Our first bushwalk as a group in 2010 (we didn't have one in 2009) was the Lake Mountain Summit Walk, part of the Yarra Ranges National Park. The kids call this 'walking among the dead trees'. Even so, we did enjoy the walk. Let's see what we saw on the way ...
At the entrance
The view wasn't bad at all.
The summit at 1433 metres above sea level.
Revegetation - a year after the bushfire.
We also saw remains of a mountain crab. Ivan was quite keen to try to find a live one. Better luck next time.
Enjoying the view and fresh alpine air.
An example of bad parenting. Not only do the parents let the kids play soccer at the car park, they actually ACTIVELY encouraged them and even joined in with the kids!
